Crastatt with its population, at the last census, of 188, is 250 metres above sea level at the foot of the Durenberg. It is a very rural and agricultural village with a number of noteworthy farmhouses and the 1891 church dedicated to Saint-Augustin which incorporates a bell tower dating from the XIIth-XIIIth centuries. At nearby Ritterpfad, a Merovingian necropolis with seven tombs dating from the VIIth century was unearthed in 1914.
