Alsace is one of the regions in Europe with the largest number of castles, with nearly 500 by the end of the Middle Ages. Among the 80 sites that still exist today, embark on a journey to discover those in the Mossig and Vignoble region !
Each of the 24 municipalities in the destination has at least one religious building, whether it be Catholic, Protestant, or even mixed and Jewish. Just by observing them, one can realize that their history is as rich as their architecture...
An overlooked history that nevertheless left its mark on the village of Wangenbourg. Between 1939 and 1940, the village experienced a visit from the future General Charles de Gaulle, which shaped the landscape and daily life of its residents.
