We recently had the honour of meeting Timothée Rothgerber, director of Rothgerber Farm in Traenheim. During our interview, we were able to discover this family and friendly place whose rich history seduced us. Indeed, it is since 1542 that the Rothgerber family has been settled in the charming village of Traenheim where they devote themselves to the cultivation of vines and arboriculture.

From the origins of the terroir to the position of director

When we meet Timothée Rothgerber, it is with a certain humility that he does not present himself as the director of this establishment but proud of his origins, as a farmer. Because it’s true, this beautiful farmhouse that proudly sits in front of its neighbour, the cellar of King Dagobert, has a whole history that goes back generations to yesteryear.

As you enter the shop area, you will set foot in apple heaven because this is probably the peculiarity of this fruit farm. Everything is homemade! Here, you’ll never wonder where your apple juice comes from because the orchards bloom at the foot of the Rothgerber building. If you want to focus on local and short-circuit consumption, you’ve come to the right place!

Which fruit juice to drink this winter?

We loved tasting the Spiced Apple Juice to drink hot! With the allure of mulled wine, it is gourmet and comforting, everything we love this winter!

The restaurant, the highlight of the Rothgerber farm

What about the restaurant part? Well, it’s the same thing! We had the chance to explore the behind-the-scenes of the farm. What was our surprise when we met all the little hands who make the dishes served every day. From the most gourmet of pastries to Alsatian sauerkraut, everything is made on site. You will be won over while enjoying your breakfast, lunch, or snack, facing the imposing Mount Scharrach that you can admire from the bay windows of the farm.

In conclusion, if you are passing through Mossig and Vineyard, we really advise you to go to the Rothgerber Farm where you can find everything you want, but also taste delicious dishes prepared on site with the products of the farm.
