Our experience in Dangolsheim for the 6th edition of the Pink Hike!
Every year, the tourist office of Mossig and Vineyard organizes a pink hike. Signature of Pink October to allow all residents and neighbours to come together around the same values. Why participate? To combine business with pleasure, of course! As someone who loves to walk and enjoy natural scenery, we are delighted to be able to do so for a good cause. New this year?
Arrival at 8am – check-up and handing over the cap
Arriving at 8am, we are greeted by a stand with coffee and pastries. This year, the municipality of Dangolsheim welcomes us at home and in the courtyard of its community hall. We have the opportunity to enjoy a breakfast before leaving for the short hike that awaits us. We go by the tourist office stand to validate our registration in order to pick up a bright pink cap with the effigy of this 6th edition of the pink hike.
The other lane is reserved for those who wish to register on site on the day.
Departure at 9am – let’s all walk in pink!
At 9 a.m., we form ranks before we start walking. This unique start, which takes place every year in the different communes of Mossig and Vignoble, announces a unique emotion of cohesion. In a few minutes, we left the courtyard of the Dangolsheim multipurpose hall to wander through the alleys of the city. Soon we leave the concrete roads to join the dirt paths. These are wide enough to accommodate our almost 500 hikers. With the morning light illuminating the golden vineyards, we are captivated by the natural landscape that surrounds us. All dressed in pink, an impressive wave of pink looms across the fields, carrying the values of Pink October upon us. Among us, residents, walkers, families, but also people in remission, others with cancer. Being all together brings about a real sense of solidarity. The modest 7km loop designed by the Club Vosgien brought together both experienced hikers and amateur walkers so that everyone could get together.
Retour à 11h – restaurons-nous !
When we finish this 6th pink hike, we are back at the Dangolsheim town hall. This is an opportunity for us to eat with different products. A pretzel with a fresh fruit juice or a knack and a soup allow us to taste the flavors of Alsace in good company. To spend an even more convivial moment, we can sit down at the table to enjoy carefully chosen dishes in honor of this pink hike.
A few final words…
In Alsace, there are several events for the benefit of Pink October. This is an opportunity for the different territories to bring their inhabitants together for the benefit of a beautiful work. In Mossig and Vineyard, this pink hike was born from a sincere desire to make this moment of sharing accessible to all around an outdoor activity while allowing you to discover the towns of the destination. By tracing the different editions of the pink hike, we can see more and more people who have joined the movement.
